06 March 14 Stafford MP visits Northfield Village

Jeremy Lefroy, MP for Stafford, paid a visit to Northfield Village recently. It was an opportunity to see what progress is being made at the landmark development. He was shown around the site by Project Manager, Phil Brenner, pictured on the left.

Northfield Village is being built on a brownfield site next to Stone Road in Stafford. It will feature an 80 apartment extra care scheme for the over 55s, specialist dementia accommodation, supported and general needs housing, a community hub, a GP practice and pharmacy.

The development also features an energy efficient wood chip biomass plant that will provide heating and hot water for the complex. Excavation work for the plant is well advanced and Mr Lefroy (pictured right) was able to see that some of the infrastructure is already in place.Speaking about the development, Mr Lefroy said: “I was very impressed with the progress being made on Northfield village. As the facilities take shape, I can again appreciate what a huge benefit it will be to the residents of Stafford, both for those who will be able to live there, but also for the community as a whole. Staffordshire County Council can be proud of this project and should be congratulated for the vision they have shown in bringing it to fruition. My thanks also go to all those organisations involved.”

Northfield Village is being delivered by Staffordshire County Council in partnership with The Wrekin Housing Trust, Choices and Galliford Try.
